Pioneer FM charity paddling event supporting Frank Water UK

Paddling Pioneers Raise Money for Frank Water

On Thursday 23rd September, four members of the Pioneer FM team took to the waters of Bristol Harbour to raise money for our charity partner, Frank Water.

The event raised over £5,000, supporting projects that provide safe drinking water and sanitation in remote parts of India and Nepal.

Our team progressed to the semi-finals, showing great determination throughout. Although their journey ended there, the team demonstrated fantastic spirit and teamwork.

Holly Stockbridge-Hodgson said:
“I’m very proud of my team. Some had only been on a paddleboard once before today. We may not have won, but we showed great spirit — and most importantly, we raised money for Frank Water.”

About Frank Water

Since 2005, Frank Water has supported over 425,000 people across 617 communities. Their work focuses on providing safe water, improving sanitation, and reducing poverty.

The charity empowers communities to manage their own water systems. It places particular focus on supporting women, girls, and vulnerable groups who are often most affected by water inequality.

In many remote areas, access to clean water is limited. As a result, families must walk long distances, often collecting unsafe water that impacts health and education.

Frank Water’s mission

Frank Water’s mission strongly aligns with Pioneer FM’s values. Access to clean water is essential, yet often taken for granted in the UK.

As a business with a predominantly female workforce, we are passionate about supporting equality, opportunity, and sustainable development.

The charity works at both local and national levels, delivering practical solutions such as gravity-fed water systems and rainwater harvesting. These initiatives provide long-term, sustainable access to clean water.

However, the challenge remains significant. Over 660 million people worldwide still lack access to safe drinking water.

Frank Water founder Katie Alcott said:
“We are delighted to welcome Pioneer FM as a corporate partner. Their forward-thinking and ethical approach aligns closely with our mission to improve global water security.”

Pioneer FM CEO, MJ Pettit, added:
“Our business depends on access to clean water, and many of our workforce have personal connections to regions where this is not guaranteed. Supporting Frank Water allows us to help create meaningful change.”

This initiative reflects Pioneer FM’s commitment to responsible business and sustainable facilities management across the UK.
