Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS)

The Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) is a background screening package advised by the UK Government and has been in place since 2009. The BPSS is a package of checks that meets the baseline employee checking standard used for anyone working within or on behalf of a government department. It is also a basic entry-level standard that organisations in the communications, energy, and financial sectors.

Pioneer FM's efficient in-house vetting team works quickly in response to urgent customer requests requiring BPSS and DBS-checked staff. As a result, Pioneer FM can fill vacancies rapidly to provide a full, seamless service at all times.

Following a rigorous interview process, we run our own standard and enhanced BPSS and Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks on every Pioneer before they are onboarded, performing regular checks to uncover any changes thereafter. This enables us to make safer recruitment decisions for our partners and our organisation.

Enhanced and higher level security clearance

Pioneer FM has extensive experience providing vetted and trusted professionals to some of the UK largest private and public sector companies. We have worked with the likes of QinetiQ, HMRC and Border Force in ensuring that high level sites are securely and discreetly cleaned.  Our in-house vetting team, specialised in handling security clearances, enables us to streamline the process, significantly reducing turnaround times to meet urgent demands. Whether it’s BPSS or SC clearance, we ensure all staff are fully vetted and compliant with the specific security requirements of each site. Our management team, all of whom are SC cleared, can step in and support site delivery, guaranteeing that every operation runs smoothly and securely.

A testament to our expertise in delivering security-cleared personnel is our work with the UK Inland Border Force (IBF) Lorry Parks. Across six major IBF Lorry Parks, including the high-traffic site in Sevington, we deployed over 100 vetted operatives on a 24/7 basis. These operatives, cleared for security-sensitive roles, provided seamless round-the-clock cleaning and maintenance, ensuring that these critical, high-traffic sites remained operational, compliant, and secure at all times. This experience underscores our capability to scale and deliver high-security, large-volume services without compromising on quality or reliability.
