Pioneer FM’s Commitment to Carbon Reduction

Pioneer FM is committed to reducing its greenhouse gas emissions in line with the 1.5°C climate target. Our approach focuses on measurable, science-aligned reductions across all scopes of emissions, including direct operations, travel, and supply chain impacts.

We aim to reduce our total emissions by 50% by 2030, compared to our 2024 baseline.

Emissions Baseline

Our baseline year is calendar year 2024, the first full year with accurate measurement across all emission scopes.

Emissions Reduction Targets

Emissions Scope Total (tCO₂e)
Scope 1 (Direct emissions) 8.656
Scope 2 (Electricity use) 2.223
Scope 3 (Indirect emissions incl. travel, procurement, waste) 42.981
Total 53.86 tCO₂e

Emissions Reduction Targets

Year Target Emissions (tCO₂e) Reduction from 2024 Baseline
2025 48 tCO₂e 11%
2030 27 tCO₂e 50%

We will update our reduction targets annually to reflect improvements in our data and operational capacity.

Carbon Reduction Measures

Measures already implemented:

  • Operate a fully electric fleet, eliminating conventional vehicle emissions.
  • Use digital-first practices to cut down on paper and resource use.
  • Track and monitor emissions using the SME Climate Hub and Defra/BEIS conversion factors.

Planned measures:

  • Introduce a low-carbon procurement policy for services, equipment, and materials.
  • Partner with suppliers who demonstrate strong environmental credentials.
  • Implement enhanced waste management and recycling practices on client sites.
  • Provide carbon literacy training for internal teams and subcontractors.
  • Publish annual carbon updates and review progress toward the 2030 target.

Offsetting Commitment

In addition to reducing our operational emissions, Pioneer FM is committed to offsetting 100% of our measured annual emissions through credible, independently verified offset projects. These may include UK-based schemes and those with social and biodiversity co-benefits.
Furthermore, we aim to go beyond carbon neutrality by voluntarily offsetting more than we emit each year. This proactive approach supports our ambition to be a climate-positive business while we continue to drive internal reductions.

Declaration and Sign-Off

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been approved by the Board of Directors and will be reviewed annually.
